From Taiwan, Sailing Toward the World
Beyond linking fleets island-wide, IYFR Taiwan actively drives international exchange, welcoming fleets from around the world to visit and sending members abroad — letting the world see the passion, drive and international friendship of Taiwan’s Rotarians.
Sister Fleets & International Visits
Voyager Fleet × Tokyo Fleet
On March 13, 2023, Taiwan’s Voyager Fleet formed a sister-fleet relationship with Japan’s Tokyo Fleet. In 2025, at the IYFR International Convention in Melbourne, members from both fleets reunited, deepening the bond across the sea.
Sapphire StarFleet’s International Footprint
The Sapphire StarFleet attended the IYFR Area 3 AGM in Tainan the same year it was founded; travelled to Singapore for the IYFR International Convention in 2024; attended the Tokyo Fleet’s 5th anniversary and the IYFR Hong Kong AGM in 2025, along with the Area 3 Fun Fun Fun Cup regatta in Hayama; and returned to Tokyo in 2026 for the Tokyo Fleet’s change-of-command. After forming a sister-fleet bond with a Philippine fleet, both sides exchanged visits and jointly took part in tree-planting service at Tagaytay Highlands, turning sisterhood into concrete action.
International Leadership Vision
Paul Yiu joined IYFR’s Philippine Dragon Fleet in 2015, opening a close bond between Taiwan and international IYFR; nominated IYFR International Commodore-elect in 2023, invested as Vice Commodore at the 2025 IYFR International Convention in Canada, and set to become IYFR Commodore for 2027–2029 — the first Taiwanese leader to reach the international bridge.
Welcoming the World, Showcasing Taiwan
During the 2026 Rotary International Convention held in Taiwan, IYFR Taiwan held its first-ever “IYFR International Sailing Regatta" in Tainan’s Anping, welcoming fleets from Taiwan and abroad. As IYFR sailors from different nations sailed side by side on Taiwan’s waters, we showed the world not only Taiwan’s beautiful coastlines and harbours, but the passion, drive and international friendship of Taiwan’s Rotarians.
United by Rotary, Gathered by the Sea
Joined by a shared ideal, letting the world see Taiwan.
